The charm of nature in Finland, deep and luminescent, has given rise to a long-standing project that has led me to travel there many times. You would think that lakes are all the same, regardless of what country they’re in, wouldn’t you? But just the way the light of the long northern summer night reflected on the surface of the water made me press the shutter button. The wake of a boat took away the mirror-like scene I wanted to behold. It’s as if the landscape in front of me is a tableau trapped in a vacuum pack. It’s always there, but when there’s a breeze it gets erased and takes on an otherworldly quality. Miho Kakuto (Photographer)

Kobayashi has contributed to a significant shift in reducing the distance between art and products for daily living.
